I am generally happy with amazon customer service: great selection, competitive price, speedy shipping.
I bought this item to as it’s a great deal to try out the cast iron cookware. However, I guess it is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. My order is pending for 1 month to be exact, but I’m in no hurry. Anyway, after checking on the order status, I found out that many of recent amazon customers only received the book. I called in to find out what’s going on. The customer service kept saying “I’m sorry” to me - as I told him that I was never informed by amazon about the change.
The product description page conveniently got changed to remove everything related to the 5 Qt dutch oven and the skillet. Though I always save everything as a record and nicely asked the customer service for help. There was nothing else he can do. He’s not allowed to place a new order for me either. So I asked him to go ahead and cancel my order coz I don’t want to get just a book. I need the whole set. To compensate on the inconvenience, he offered me a $10 GC for next purchase.
I understand that there may be some confusion between the book and the book with the cookware set. I expect amazon to handle the problem better, either honor the orders or at least have the courtesy to send out email explaining the problem.
Not what was promised by A. Ukasick
Like the previous reviewer, I also received my order, after waiting over a month, and all I got was the book. I did not get the 5qt dutch oven or the 10″ cast iron skillet that were in the description. Amazon has now changed the description, but I printed it out when I ordered, so I have proof. I will be seeking my full order or a full refund.
Update: I talked to amazon and had a very nice representative who looked into it and acknowledged that amazon had made an error and offered to let me just keep the book for free or send it back for a full refund plus $20 for my trouble. I thought that was very fair and since all I really wanted was the cookware, I’m going to send the book back for the refund plus $20 credit. If I could, I’d change my review to 3 stars now, since there’s nothing wrong with the book, but it won’t let me.

amazon screwed me! by Adrien Huang
amazon changed the description of the page prior to my receiving it. they altered the information on the webpage, removing the information stating that it came with the 5 quart dutch oven and 10″ skillet. when i called to try to get this corrected, even though i had a pdf file of the previous webpage on my computer, all i get is subsidized customer service from india. people who cant even understand what im really saying, and only know what general rules they are to follow. i called multiple times, the whole time no one would help. i have amazon prime and this took a month to get to me, not only that it was the wrong item, they changed the description so i dont have a leg to stand on, and wont accept the saved pdf of the original description. wow, thanks amazon.
Just the book by Mezz
I don’t know what the above reviewer ordered, but when I placed my order for this book that was all that I got…the book. When I inquired as to where the cookware was I was told that there was none included in this item purchase.
