When we plan a house we should have a layout
plan for every room considering the purpose and furniture requirements. This
article explains a typical lay out plan for the dining room.

While planning to construct a house we should have an idea
about the layout of the different rooms required for the house. This is
required even if you are purchasing a built up house to check whether it suits your
needs or not. The layout of the dining room from its position within the house
to the placing of dining room furniture and other accessories is briefly
explained below.

First and foremost is the location of the dining room. In
ideal circumstances it should be near the kitchen, as this will facilitate easy
carrying of the food to the dining room. It should also be near the living room
as living room is the common place of the house. However it is not good to have
the passage to the living room to be through the dining room. If unavoidable,
the door from the dining room to the living room may be kept near the door of
the kitchen, on the adjacent walls of a corner of the dining room.

To enhance the look, the entrance from the living room can
be made into an arch instead of a standard door. At least one of the walls,
especially the one opposite to the arch should be the outer wall of the house.
A large window can be planned on this wall to have sufficient day light. The other
wall opposite the kitchen can have a medium or a large window that suits the
general look of the house. One wall can be selected to fix the , more
area will be required. More about that style later!
